Used Thermwood Model C67 5 Axis CNC Router.
It is primarily designed specifically for 3 dimensional trimming and machining of molded plastic parts. The Model 67 is configured with an automatic tool changer.
* Moving table fixed gantry CNC router, 1500 inch per minute feed speed, engineered steel construction, track ways, AC servos and ball screw drives.
* The machine base is an engineered steel weldment consisting of structural steel main tubes and structural steel tube cross braces. The base structure has steel mounting pads, each equipped with leveling bolts.
* The gantry construction consists of a heavy steel weldment of structural steel tubing and plates with internal steel bracing. The gantry is stationary and is fabricated to the base frame for added stiffness.
* The ways of X, Y and Z-axes are a trackway style of precision ground steel and are hardened to a Rockwell 60 minimum. The recirculating linear ball bearings, which ride on the ways, are preloaded to provide high rigidity. The bearings are also equipped with neoprene seals.
* High performance closed loop Siemens AC brushless servo drives are equipped on all axes. The drives provide high acceleration and quick deceleration with maximum machine feed speeds up to 1500 inches per minute.
* Axis 4 and axis 5 rotary head mechanism consists of cast steel housings precision machined and fitted with steel bearing supports.
* Retrofitted with new Generation II controller in 2007
