This press has a lot going for it and very little except the frame is from the “original” Taurus machine. At some point the former owner upgraded the platens to Elkoms which are the best platens you can get period. The platens are dead flat and the gold anodized plating is in very good condition. We installed a NEW heater, heating hoses, piping, thermostat, temperature probe, and flushed the heating oil and added all NEW Mobiltherm. We didn’t stop there as we replaced all the seals in the pneumatic pistons, changed the 2 main hydraulic hoses, changed one of the hydraulic solenoid switches, flushed the hydraulic system, and topped it off with fresh NEW hydraulic oil. This press is capable of 120 tons of pressure and the current thermostat is set to 220 degrees Fahrenheit max temperature. The platens measure 51-1/4″ X 98-1/2″ with a 10″ daylight opening. Machine is wired 230V/3 Phase. Also included is a full set of schematics for ease of servicing. Please note that most parts can easily be sourced in the US and are readily available through multiple vendors. |
